About the author: 

Born in Dublin, Ireland as the youngest of her mother’s eight children. Donoghue graduated from University College Dublin with a first-class honors Bachelors of the Arts degree. Along with being an award-winning, best-selling author for her novel Room, Donoghue is also a playwright, screenwriter, and a literary historian. The Irish-Canadian was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay, for her novel Room. 

About the Book:

We meet Jack, a sweet, naive, 5-year-old boy. A boy who knows nothing of the outside world and life beyond the single room he was born and raised in. Unbenounced to Jack, he and his Ma are prisoners in this room.

Once you meet Jack and see the world through his eyes you won’t want to put the book down. You’ll want to go with Jack on his journey. You’ll want to know if he and Ma ever find a way to escape from their prison.

Donoghue interprets a small and imaginative world through the eyes of a 5-year-old in a way one could never imagine. You will be incapable of putting the book down until you’ve reached the final destination of Jack and his Ma’s journey.
